Blue Cavern

Hi everyone,

When doing the petrol pump page on my website I noticed something in the DSK.

The petrol pump pictured in the DSK is a normal smurf pump only with different stickers. But the picture we have of the playsetbox and parts in bag clearly shows that the parts were made in different materialcolours.

All the blue and silver parts except for the handle are white material. See picture. These parts are white in BP box.

Also the yellow parts are green material.

I mean if the one pictured in the DSK are the one sold it must be very easy to fake this.

I made this pump very quickly, just printing, cutting and glueing. With better paper and printer this must be very easy. And a bit more time spent!

Do you think the one shown in the DSK is a real BP pump??

and also the end of the tube should be green, according to the BP box

Yes Lia,

these parts should be green material. If you look closely the green parts also can be spotted in the bag.

I just found a picture of the BP station in one of my files, ,NOT my picture and I cant remember where it`s from??? So I hope, it`s okay if I show it here

You could be right.
But over the years we have seen the farm and windmill changed from colour to.....................
Without inside info it's hard to tell what is real and what is not.

Same with the BP sockel, what is real the smurf with golden wreath or the one with green and 75 on his belly

I hope it's the green wreath and 75 on the chest. That's what mine has.

Bernd Maier told me he bought the yellow petrol station version directly from Schleich at a factory outlet

but if we compare to the windmills and farm. The value and rarity on them are very different. So if Schleich ever made a pump for BP looking like the fake I made I would definatly put the value only a fraction of the value on the "real" one. To me it also could be one of these items many sellers "create" to be able to get collectors to pay more money. But this is just my opinion.

There is only one thing be can be sure of. The variation with the different materialcolours on the pump must be way way more rare compared to the other one. Since the other one is basicly the same as all petrol pumps Schleich made from 1979 to 1994, right?? The only difference is stickers!

a factory outlet by Schleich. I want to go to that also!!
I have no idea if that is correct or not??? Could be that Schleich had more stickers compared to pumps and therefore used some ot the spare stickers this way?? Everthing is possible and I think the pump I made could look very good displayed with the BP cleaner. So in that way I love it!

Could also be like this.

The BP box and the pump made of othermaterial colours are very very rare and must have been made for a very short time in the beginning.

Then Schleich later ( maybe years later) could have made a pump for BP with only the stickers to make in cheaper?? So basicly they could have been sold in different years and in different ways. maybe then without the box?? It is a lot easier to just make new stickers, right?

do you have the miller-smurf with green dot? What type of sack is on that smurfs?

I have now added the variations and history of the conveyor belt to the website.

A very nice smurfy item! Especially the box! Often lacking any of the myriad labels. Unfortunately I lack the small emblem on the front of the BP gas station and the box of course
