Just curious, if anyone knows, why Hefty Smurf now seems impossible to find...?

I have two theories on this.
First is this smurf was only available for six years, between 1994 to 2000. Which is quite a small period.

I also don't recall seeing Hefty in the Smurf movies instead we are introduced to a new character Gutsy! Perhaps Hefty was a little boring!

This is a hard Smurf to find, that's for sure

Hello everybody... been awhile since I've been here (almost 4-5 years I think!)... had a lot of life stuff happen.

Anyway, I just did a quick eBay search and it seems ole' Hefty is still rare, or, at least rare enough to command a healthy price. I saw 3 different ones listed and they were all over $40!

Hi Ponysmurf,
I've found a couple where the pricing is okay, although the postage to NZ will increase the cost quite a bit I guess? First Bernd and then Bent, both in Germany.

Both of these are the black dot variation, there's also one without a black dot! :)

Hope you are well,
Tommo

Hey thanks, Tommo! (Btw, what does the black dot indicate?)
Postby Tommo » Thu Apr 02, 2020 5:41 am
It indicates where it was painted. The coloured dots: mustard, green and red, finished around 1987, were for the countries Portugal, Tunisia and Sri Lanka respectively. The black dots were from 1988 to 1998 and were for those painted in Portugal and Tunisia as far as I know. :D

G’day PonySmurf

I can see that Andrew from Toydreamer is selling from his online shop. He is based in Melbourne, so the postage should be more reasonable to NZ.

Hey Kath! Thanks for this. I had Hefty at one time but he's sprouted an extra pair of legs and disappeared. He was always my favourite so I definitely want to replace him ;)
